This controversial statement was first released by Basedkarbon on October 28. The account said that Trump said in a recent interview that "cryptocurrency should not be taxed" and "Bitcoin is a currency". This news was later reposted by Good Morning Crypto on October 29th, and then Saylor released it to its 3.6 million followers on October 30th, attracting the attention of multiple high-profile accounts.

Regarding this, Basedkarbon commented on Saylor's tweet on October 30th:

Not taxing cryptocurrencies is a microcosm of how information operates. The reason why things become true is only because someone claims it to be true, and the whole world is actually just people speaking and making it a reality
